Death of  a Pen Name

Strong story told respectfully and boldly. Madeleine Farley commands that stage and leads this cast through a very hard story to tell. Empathetic, sad, funny. Brava.

A strong cast led by Madeleine Farley brings this story to life... A powerful loss animates the play, but the poetry of that lost friend is woven throughout the show, honoring his memory and reanimating his voice. It's hard to imagine that any member of the audience won't find something familiar and painful here.

A very personal account of one friendship rocked by addiction and betrayal. The show is touching and emotional but has light and funny moments throughout. Actors were incredible and the poetry highlighted was interesting and impressively delivered.

The Roaring Girl

"Haughty Sir Alexander Wengrave is opposed to son Sebastian’s choice for marriage. Therefore, young Sebastian tricks his father into thinking that the older Moll is the woman he wants to wed, rather than Mary (a fittingly delicate Madeleine Farley), the maiden he actually loves. Out of this, comedy unravels onto the streets themselves. This comedy, so vibrantly observant of London city social levels of the time, has been shaped into a production that utterly glistens with a kaleidoscope of robust and eccentric performances. [The] terrific acting ensemble, dressed in exquisite period detail by costume designers Lolly Foy and Marco T. Magno, transport us to the rough and tumble world of mercenaries, dandies and louts who deceive, peddlers with descending levels of virtue, and sexual hypocrisy."

She is particularly striking in a scene with Major Stephenson—James Fletcher admirably humanizing the most sexist male voice in the play. The two discuss her penchant for getting the hiccups “in a tight spot,” establishing a tenuous rapport within a structure that restricts them both."
